David Hernandez has been cast to play the role of a landscaper (Cheuy Flores) in the up coming movie originaly named "Humboldt Park". ( Re-named to " Nothing Like The Holidays) This Cameo appearance was a welcome project for David Hernandez as he was already filming another film.
The opportunity to work with Freddy Rodriguez, Alfred Molina, John legizamo, Luis Guzman and the other incredible cast was something David would not pass up.
David portrays the part of a Mexican Landscaper. Very interesting as David is as he states "Boriqueño" for the rest of us that is of the "Puerto Rican" persuasion. David swells with pride when he stated that " I was told that I portrayed a Mexican better than the seasoned Mexican actors that auditioned for that same role". Even John Leguizamo thought he was Mexican until David explained to John that he was from the Caribbean.
Update: The movie has been renamed to "Nothing Like the Holidays". Movie to be released November 21st, 2008. Click the link to official movie page.

Yet another film being made in Chicago by Carmen Marron named "Go For It" has contracted the talent of Chicago's muti-talented David Hernandez. Our A-list Actor was cast to portray the lead role of CUKO in the film "Go For It".
David Hernandez will be leaving Chicago to film in Los Angeles in Early November 2008. David Hernandez has proven once again that his talent cannot be held to just one place.
David Hernandez admits that Carmen Marron is a childhood High School friend. Both attended Lane Technical High School back in the day.
Today the alma-matter is named Lane tech college prep. Marron and Mr. Hernandez remember those days quite well. This film is based on the life and times of Carmen Marron and the days of old. Yet interestingly enough the same dreams and aspirations of the youth hold true today. The story aims at relaying message from the old school to the new school youth.
David Was almost passed up for the role as everything went so wrong at the first audition with Carmen at the Screen Actors Guild Office in Chicago. Fortunately for David there was no one who was able to get the spirit of this character of Cuko. A search continued for months from Los Angeles to New York and Chicago there would only be one and he had to be perfect! Carmen Marron would not compromise for anything less.
Another casting was held in Chicago and David was miraculously re-called by Carmen Marron writer/director of the film and Her incredible husband Sid Idris (Producer).
Johnny on the spot (David Hernandez)determined to be in this inspiring film nailed the role as he originally expected the first time.
Even seasoned professionals have a bad day. David says " That was the day I walked hand in hand with Murphy's Law."

Director Alfredo De Villa contacted David Hernandez and explained that 9 Scenes were cut from the movie Nothing Like The Holidays including the scenes that included David Hernandez for time. He continued to say that David Hernandez would remain in the credits as the scene cut would be made available in the DVD. Mr. De Villa explained that he was very proud of the scenes that were filmed with David Hernandez, yet the market study of the film prior to release revealed that the time issue would require the unfortunate cuts. David Hernandez was quick to say "I can't wait for the DVD to come out any way!"
Mr. De Villa allegedly has reserved this footage and other great scenes for the DVD release.
January 2010
The DVD is Now out and the cut scenes were replaced with a reunion footage. WHAT? Oh well, David is still in the credits and is having a hell of a time getting the cut footage.
